Growing up along the coastlines of Aotearoa, it was only natural to develop a deep passion for the ocean. For us, the sea has always been more than just a backdrop — it’s our culture, our way of life, and for generations, a vital source of kai (food).
At Strayline Aotearoa, we carry that heritage forward. We’re about family, community, and connection to the ocean. Our mission is to share knowledge, inspire the next generation, and get our youth back to the water — to fish, to learn, and to appreciate the taonga (treasures) we are blessed with here in Aotearoa.
The name Strayline itself comes from one of New Zealand’s most iconic fishing techniques — a simple but effective way of casting a baited line into the current, letting it drift naturally to entice a fish. It’s a method that reflects patience, skill, and respect for the ocean — values that sit at the very heart of who we are as a brand.
This isn’t just clothing. It’s a lifestyle built around respect for the sea, pride in our roots, and a vision to keep our fishing culture alive for years to come.
